This type of promotion seems to be big in Penn National casinos (including Argosy and Hollywood). I've never seen a payout of a winner that they advertise that gets even close to $49,000. I think I saw one payout at $45,000, but most 'hit' around 35-40. This wouldn't make it an advantage play.
The only good news (if it's good news) is that they do offer it on VP as well, but the tables are pretty lousy there, best being 7-5 Bonus Poker, so take that with a grain of salt.
It depends on how quickly the jackpot advances. If it goes up $1 per day then it is likely not worth playing until relatively close to the limit. If it goes up $100 a day it is a different story.
